New York Fashion Week Fall 2008 : Lacoste

Michelle Bell

Photography Kevin Kane

The Lacoste runway show was an exercise in everything wearable. There was no abstract art or experimentation of the extreme, this was a exceptionally well done collection of what one would expect to wear for fall. The fact that expectations were met doesn’t dull the enthusiasm for the designer or remove joy or happiness from the collection (although seeing it from the outside screen) was a lot more fun than seeing it up close and personal. The crush of the crowd was was too much to bare for a girl in heels. Show highlights include a gorgeous red above the knee-length sweater dress, the full body length thick scarves, a striped mini-dress with yellow tie included and a gorgeous gray waist-length coat. You know what you’re getting with Lacoste and that in turn is a good thing.
