New York Fashion Week Fall 2008 : Diane von Furstenberg
Michelle Bell
What hasn’t already been said about a Diane von Furstenberg show? It’s always a grand event on the scale of Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein. Of the four, she is the only designer that still consistently shows at the Bryant Park tents and this show was another solid outing for the fashion veteran. This Fall von Furstenberg took us to the 40s with a international multi-city theme entitled foreign affair. Once again we stood outside as the crush of people waiting to get in was just too much to bear. Her show played on the screen and our photographer had to brave the sea of people.
Some of the highlights from her collection this fall include a loral-print cheongsam, a gold lamé gown and Lurex gingham topped black feathers. Another positive outing by von Furstenberg.
