New York Fashion Week Fall 2008 : Abaete
Michelle Bell
If, as a fashion writer you have a problem picking your favorite piece from a collection, then it is obvious the runway review is going to break positively. That being said. Abaete had what can best be described as the quintessentially safe fall collection. Nearly every possible fall item was featured, even some relatively unconventional items that goes missing in other collections. Laura Poretzky need not add extreme embellishments or reinvent the wheel and she didn’t do that for this show. Her fall 2008 collection was more of a continuation of past shows with subtle nuances here and there.
Highlights include a beautiful gray circle skirt, a simply plain black silk dress and a particular favorite from her collection for the fall a gray jersey top.
