New York Fashion Week Fall 2008 : Nautica

Nautica is sending a clear message to the mens world of fashion: preppy Americana is back. While this has always been a mantra behind the label somewhere something got lost in translation and they went off-course. To use a crude boating reference the ship at Nautica has been put back on the right course.

This is not slim Euro fashion created for the business man attempting to make a statement. Nautica Fall 2008 says there’s space for broad shoulders and a little leg room as well. The busy male will have the ability to take a business meeting in the morning wearing casual Nautica kahkis with a ribbed sweater, and military sand shirt replete with dark colored tie; then can take it to the slopes that same afternoon with Nautica ski wear. Did the designer nail it? With a sledgehammer.
