The music starts and the first song would run of a random list of things and say boring. Well Mr. Azria picked the perfect song for the start of his show because small portions of the line was just that. The color palate was dull for the first few pieces and he didn’t add a splash of color until the end (cranberry and goldenrod were fantastic). Many pieces had bubble hems, tiers, and ruffles. However the details and pleating were amazing. The hammered style pleating made for lovely blouses that fell on the models like satin fans. The use of jersey is always big with BCBG, but the pleating was pulled off perfectly even on pieces of that nature.
Accessories were a main focus as all of the collection were shown with BCBG shoes and belts which were tied around the waist as opposed to being buckled (definitely a welcomed change). There was also a collection on sleevless trench coats which most would consider wearing as a dress on a harsh winter day. Although I find a trip to a BCBG store more exciting than parts of the collection shown yesterday- the brilliance of Azria showed in the detailing of his garments.
