Harold Tillman, the new Chairman of the British Fashion Council is looking to recruit supermodels to help mentor the new faces coming into the industry. His suggestion starts with Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell. Both models have had a great run of success and can help younger models with the pitfalls and successes of the industry. Tillman wants designers and models to adhere to the recently released Model Health Inquiry report. He tells The Evening Standard that :
“Many girls are looking after themselves but there is unfortunately a minority that isn’t. We need the rest of Europe and the rest of the world on board.”
One of his first initiatives includes the enviable job of making sure that model working conditions are up to the standards laid out by the Health Inquiry during fashion week.
