Model Health Top Priority – British Fashion Council

With the fashion week season getting ready to kick off in a couple of weeks controversy is an inescapable fact of life. The British Fashion Council though is looking to head off any controversy regarding underweight models and any lingering drug issues by putting out a stern warning. Models caught doing drugs will be escorted out immediately and the organizers will notify the police. Other steps the council is taking include , reinforcing the ban on models aged 16 and younger, requiring health certificates from the models, establishing a representative body for models (though they stopped short of using the word union) and stopping digital manipulation (photoshop etc) of photos.

For more on the initiative visit the health inquiry website.
