70s Flashback for Fall

Platform Revival
Platforms have made their way into Fall’s leading shoe trends with designers Christian Louboutin, Gucci, and Prada offering sky-high heel opportunities without the stiletto prerequisite. Mary Janes and fringe-accented oxford booties are just a few of the latest renditions from the runway, a fresh take on old-school fashion in suede, patent leather, and fringe accents—a touch of feminine appeal on an otherwise traditional look.
Extra-large Accessories
The oversized wrist cuffs are another Fall accessory that have steadily climbed into extra-large department. Decked out in jewels or hammered silver and gold, the wrist cuff finishes off a simple outfit with a signature look with go-go appeal. The oversized clutch is steadily pushing out miniature handbags, small purses, and even the much-loved minauderie for the season; clutches that can transform into handbags with a simple clasp-on handle are leading the season in glossy patent leather, exotic skins, and simple leather prints embellished with silver and gold.
Fall and Winter ’07 runway highlights are only a glimpse of the decade’s revival for the seasons ahead. Leading looks for Spring ’08 feature similar silhouettes, ruffled accents, frock-style ensembles, and an emphasis on luxury chic with bold, brash hues and splashes of color.
