Classis styles were rewarded yesterday when British fashion house Burberry Group Plc announced that retail sales rose 11 percent in the three months to end-December. Chief executive Rose Marie Bravo said in a statement on Wednesday, “In this retail-dominated quarter, we were pleased with the results for the all-important holiday period.” Total sales rose 5 percent to $297 million in its thid quarter. The acquisition of 12 new stores in Taiwan and two outlets in the US helped retail sales make up two thirds of all sales for the quarter.
Burberry is looking to dabble in fragrance with their new “Burberry London” line. Actress Rachel Weisz will be the key figure in Burberry’s online advertising.
In recent years Burberry has added diversity to its red and black check design. New additions to the line include bikinis, eyeware, pink raincoats and the aformentioned perfume line.
