No one thought that when “Project Runway” started it would see a second season, let alone finish the first. Here we are counting the hours until the second season of the show premieres.
Project Runway’s first show last season had a low turnout of 354,000 viewers. The executive producer, staff and industry watchers thought that this show was a dead turkey. Remarkably, the show’s viewers picked up and the final airing last season attracted 5 times the initial audience. That was only the beginning of the success of the “Project Runway” story. In July, “Project Runway” was nominated for an Emmy in the outstanding reality-competition category.
The winner of last year’s show, Jay McCarroll is working on his fashion line and has his own spinoff show called “Project Jay” on Bravo. This year’s contestants according to McCarroll in an interview with the New York Times, “are very guarded.”
“Project Runway” airs tonight at 10pm EST on Bravo.
