E! online is reporting that Project Runway host Heidi Klum is being sued for allegedly poaching the idea, concept and project behind the show from a writer.
Writer Joel Joel Lamontagne has sued
Gap, Banana Republic, L’Oreal, Elle magazine, Elizabeth Hurley (who hosts the British version of the show,Project Catwalk)and Klum.
Lamontagne contends that he developed the idea for Project Runway two years ago, called it America’s Fashion Designer Search and submiited it to producer Tony Yates at Project Greenlight Productions in 2003.The writer states that he is seeking damages in the “tens of millions of dollars.”
Lamontange’s lawyer, Ivan Schwartz told the Associated Press that he thinks “they took this idea, promoted it and it’s been a big success”
Project Runway goes into it’s second season December 7th on the Bravo Network.
