Rita Airaghi will be leaving the Ferre fashion house after spending 3 decades with the company started by her cousin Gianfranco Ferre. The two were very close and the split was said to be amicable. Airaghi was the communications director of Ferre. Her departure is likely to spark talk addressing the long term future of the house. The abrupt departure will not leave a vaccuum, Cristina De Rosas, who had been named Director of Public Relations, will succeed Airaghi.
DeRosas has been responsible for the recent uptick in media coverage for Ferre. She has landed the name at various celebrity events and on international movie stars.
In June the name of the brand was changed by new CEO, Massimo Macchi. The name change was prompter by Macchi because he wanted a sleeker, simpler image for the label.
