Sooner or later, the frigid winter temperatures are going to catch up with us. Although we have been pretty lucky so far here in New York City, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be thinking about your new winter coat. While black is making a comeback, I would stay away from “oh, so bleak” black for a winter coat, especially when paired with black shoes, scarves, and bags; nothing can make you “disappear” faster. Look for structured or fitted coats in a variety of bold colors, textures and prints this season to make your holidays merry.
(The long of it)
Anthropologie’s Uncommon Journey Coat
This coat is both textured and has a retro-feel print in contrasting plum and green, making it one ultra-hot and unique coat for this cold season.
J.Crew’s Greenwich Tweed Coat
This great-looking tweed coat is both classy and sexy. The collar is removable for a more casual and less structured look. The color is neutral without taking anything away from the fit and style of the coat.
Pasha & Jo’s Herringbone Tweed Peacoat
This tweed peacoat is all about the collar and the oversized pocket flaps. It is a trendy and sophisticated take on the always-in-style peacoat. The multi, brown and black tweed will take you from work to the club while keeping you warm and in style.
Juicy Couture’s Fur Double Breasted Coat
Undoubtedly, the season’s hottest and sexiest coat. Combining the elements of a fitted, double breasted peacoat with a (removable) fur collar, a back vent and military style buttoned sleeves this jacket is simply phenomenal. It will outdo your run of the mill quilted jacket or puffy parka on any day.
