The Arizona Republic is reporting that a Teen group called Youth for Modesty is asking youth clothing companies to tone down the sexy wear.
One teen told the paper that she and several church youth group members started the group after years of not finding appropriate clothes for back to school shopping.
She told the Republic that “The tops are all spaghetti straps or they’re super-tight and the shorts are all way too short.”
This movement is apparently picking up steam in Arizona as 1,000 teens signed her petition last year. Parents, according to the article, are also upset. The range of clothes offered by retailers mentioned in the article such as Abercombie and Holister Co (both owned by the same company)seems to be limiting teen and parent choices.
