Back in college, my favorite pair of jeans was by Silver. They fit great and had just the right amount of flare in the legs(I’m a hippie at heart). The price was around $50 and I got them from Nordstrom. They were hands down better than any branded retail denim (Abercrombie/Gap etc.) that I had tried up to that point. My next silver experience was later on when the cropped jeans first came back in the very late 90’s. They were slim fit and I wore them that whole summer.
This Canadian-based denim company has made quality jeans for years. Although they sell more to the 20 and under crowd, they are stylish enough and fit well enough to compete with the top denim companies. Besides, when did denim become exclusive to the 20 and under crowd?
The reality of it is, Silver Denim is comfortable. Very comfortable. So much so that I wore the loaner pair for 3 days straight. In the middle of the wearing and the obsessing over whether I should return the jeans back to Silver, I came to the realization that these jeans are the denim industry’s best kept secret.
Everyone knows about the Sevens, Joe’s and Citizens of the world, but a company like Silver has the edge on cool. There are several washes for the fall, but don’t waste any time going for anything other than the darker wash 1921 jeans. They have that worn vintage look that simply cannot be missed.
While looking at some of the major denim brands, have a look at Silver. You won’t be disappointed.
