Famed fashion designer Donald Brooks has died at the age of 77.
Brooks who designed for the like of Jacqueline Kennedy, Princess Grace and Barbra Streisand died of a heart attack.
He was the costume designer for dozens of Broadway plays, films and television movies in the 1960s and 1970s, including the plays “Barefoot In the Park” and “On a Clear Day You can See Forever” and the films “Star!” (1968) and “Darling Lili” (1970), both starring Julie Andrews. He was nominated for Oscars for both those films as well as for “The Cardinal” in 1963.
Brooks is survived by a sister, Kay Blick. A memorial service was planned for early September.
