You may able to relate to what I am about to talk about. The rest who read this will probably know someone who is facing this dilemma.
I am here, to give people hope, in this fashion trend crazy world. Do you remember the first time you fell head over heels in love with that simple must have, black, $1400 cocktail dress by Roland Mouret? I sure do.
I just know it would have been a great investment, had $1400 magically appeared in my purse to buy it. What did you feel, when you first laid eyes on a pair of the must have boots for the spring/summer season, the flat python skinned boots by Dolce & Gabbana?
Here’s what I felt: disappointment. I felt this when I came to the realization that I am paying for college on a part-time job budget. Luckily disappointment lasted only a short while. There are plenty of women in similar situations and disappointment may not be all that they feel.
Some women have gone into what can best be referred to as a ‘style meltdown.’ They go into a total style stop. But, I can tell you this, after having your delicious lunch break of window shopping on Spring street, don’t shut down. By all means do not turn your back on style.
Fashion is where you start, style is the destination. Do not be tricked, or bamboozled into thinking that not having $3,000 to buy a gold, mesh, backless dress, puts you at the bottom of the style pool… it does not!
Pull yourself up and work with what you have to create what you want the world to see. If you have that Jacki O spirit, but look like you’re about to go to the gym; when in actuality you are going out with the girls, I have some advice. There are many things you can do to enhance your going out experience before you actually go out.
Put on your distressed blue jeans, wear a fitted vintage tee, pull it all together with a fitted corduroy blazer -don’t forget- stilettos, sunglasses, and a pearl necklace. With this look (or a variation here and there), you will be giving eyes a taste of the young, classic you… the sophisticated you.
If you have an edgy Angelina Jolie spirit, here is a tip: mix it up. A calf length flowing skirt, a ribbed tee, and a pair of leather motorcycle boots can make all the difference in the world. Pull your hair back in a sleek chignon, add big circle hoop earings, wooden and/or silver bracelets, and your favorite perfume.
Create your own style without breaking the bank.
