Both scents marry the Commes des Garcons lifestyle with a softer edge than previous releases and is softer still than the newest fragrance, Wonderwood. Of the two the Papierdoll recommendation is HolyGraphie because of the lighter scent, though either will do.

Fall is a great season for makeup. After a few months of heat-induced bare skin and fun springy sheer glosses, it’s time for some serious color. And this fall strong makeup looks are back in a big way. Elke Von Freudenberg, makeup artist and writer of The Beauty Newsletter and its corresponding blog, sat down to give Papierdoll the rundown for fall ’06. “Major changes in makeup colors are gray tones in makeup, which are pretty much the strongest look,” Von Freudenberg said. “Gray shadow in the crease of the eye is big, and even grayish pinks on the lips. Lilac pinks, or pinks with an undertone of gray, were used on the cheeks and lips as another strong color palette.” Chanel’s glitzy Quadra Eyes in Sparkling Satins lights up your eye with shimmer shadows of pink, silver, taupe, and black. Use the grayish silver shade in the crease, as Von Freudenberg suggests, with a lighter color for day, or the black for night. It’s a great season for glamour with this Chanel collection. For adarker eye, Estee Lauder has lots of the tools you need. Their Pure Color Shadow in Onyx will get you started, and depending on your [...]

Unlike fall seasons of the past, beauty this fall is going to be simple and less fussy. The end effect is a natural look with more earth tones. Natural is the way to go whether it be in makeup or skincare products that are great for your skin as well as looking good will go a long way in making you feel great. Here are some quick points on Fall beauty for 2006: Eyebrows that are over tweezed are completely out. Keep your eyebrows more natural and not overly filled. We’re not talking sasquatch here. We’re talking simple and proper maintenance without looking as if they are pencil thin. Foundation should not appear caked on. This has always been the case but this fall the natural look means using it sparingly or even not at all. An example would be using a sheer matte foundation or tinted moisturizer for a more refined look. Less is more this fall. Instead of overdone lashes, use one good coat of black or brown mascara. Pink is out! Sheer red and burgundy lipsticks look fabulous on everyone. If you feel uncomfortable with going for a full red, try using a lighter shade within the [...]

For Women: The fifties look was often achieved through arduous process of pin curling and rollers. How can I create modern version of a retrodo without all of the hassles? Dennis: Use a medium to large size curling iron and curl the entire head (given the style you would like to achieve). Tease the hair, form itinto the desired shape, spray it with hair spray, and then you are good to go.——————-I have long hair and would love to create an elegant retro up do for an upcoming social occasion. Do you have any quick and easy suggestions? Dennis: Curl the hair with a medium iron, then tease and pin into desired shape. You can accent the style with a decorative head band orsome interesting hair pins.——————–For Men:Crew cuts were a popular retro style for men.
The icons of yesteryear had the same problems with skin that we have today. There are pimples, splotches, reddening, irritation, dry skin, oily skin and ___________________ < insert skin condition here. How they dealt with there skin problems doesn’t have to be a mystery. In this month’s beauty we look at two icons and the path to getting their flawless skin. Judy Garland Never thought to be the attractive classic beauty of her time, Garland struggled in getting the right look. She would always say publicly that she never liked her appearance in films. The exception to that statement was in the films Meet Me in St. Louis and The Clock. Her new makeup artist at the time swept her hair back, went for more rouge on her lips and actually reshaped her eyebrows to give her the classic beauty look that the studios wanted.Achieving a similar look: The key here is not overdoing it. Garland’s look was appropriate for the 1940s but it’s 2006 and makeup artists discourage the use of too much blush on the cheeks. Full red lips are always sexy so if we start at that point and work our way to the eyebrows we are [...]

Seattle, WA How often you should condition your hair will depend upon the texture of your hair and also what chemical process is introduced to your hair.
